The Jandy R0621900 Winterizing Cap is the genuine OEM cap for the Jandy Pro Series TruClear salt chlorine generating system. When you close the pool, the TruClear cell comes out of its plumbing union and this cap goes in its place — so the circulation loop stays sealed while the cell spends winter somewhere that will not freeze.
Why Take the Cell Out at All?
A salt cell holds water between its plates. Left on the equipment pad through a freeze, that trapped water expands and can crack the cell housing or damage the plate stack — and a replacement TruClear cell (R0693900) costs many times what this cap does. Pulling the cell and capping the union is the cheap insurance.
How It Is Used
- Shut the system down and relieve pressure before opening the union
- Remove the TruClear cell from its housing
- Fit this cap in its place, seating the O-ring and hand-tightening the collar — the moulded arrows show lock and unlock
- Rinse the cell, let it dry and store it indoors above freezing
- In spring, reverse the process and refit the cell
The clear window lets you see into the union without taking the cap back off.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this fit anything other than TruClear?
No. It is made for the Jandy Pro Series TruClear system and seats in the TruClear cell union. It is not a valve cap and will not fit a Jandy NeverLube diverter or spring check valve, and it does not fit other brands of salt chlorinator.
Is the cap a substitute for winterizing the plumbing?
No. It closes the gap left by the removed cell. You still need to winterize the system properly — draining or blowing out the lines, and following your usual closing procedure for the climate you are in. The cap protects the cell, not the pipes.
Do I need one if my pool stays open all year?
Not for winterizing. In a climate that never freezes the cell normally stays in place year round. Some owners keep a cap on hand anyway, so the system can keep circulating while the cell is out for a cleaning soak.
Can I leave it on through the season?
You can, but with the cap in place instead of the cell the system is not generating chlorine. It is a closing-season part, not a running configuration.
Does it come with the O-ring?
Yes. The O-ring ships with the cap. Give it a wipe and a light smear of silicone lubricant before fitting, and check it for nicks each season.
Do I need tools to fit it?
No. The collar is hand tightened, and the arrows moulded into it show which way locks and which way unlocks. Do not use a wrench — overtightening is how these get cracked.
What should I do with the cell over winter?
Rinse it, let it dry completely and store it indoors somewhere that stays above freezing. Inspect the plates before it goes back in come spring.
Frequently asked questions
What is the part number for this cap?
Jandy lists this cap under part number R0621900. Quote R0621900 when you cross-reference it against your equipment manual, an existing part, or a parts diagram, so you are comparing the same revision.
How do I confirm this fits my equipment?
Check that your salt chlorinator is a Jandy Pro Series TruClear. If your system or serial number is not named on this page, send it to us before you order and we will confirm the fit.
Does this need a professional to fit?
No. Fitting the cap is hand tight and within reach of any pool owner, provided the system is shut down and depressurised first. If you are unsure about the wider winterization of your equipment, a pool professional is worth the call.
Is there a warranty on this part?
It carries the standard Jandy manufacturer warranty. The terms are set by Jandy. Keep the receipt and packaging until you have confirmed correct operation.
