The Pentair 618017 IntelliBrite Architectural Series White LED Spa Light is the current generation of Pentair spa lighting. This is the 12V, 18W model with a 100 ft cord, rated as a 100W incandescent equivalent, and it is the direct replacement for the IntelliBrite 5G white spa light 640152.
Key Features
- Refined optics: the redesigned lens spreads light evenly across the spa with fewer hot spots, dark areas and glare than first generation LED.
- Brighter and more efficient: Pentair rates the Architectural Series white light at 2.3 percent more output than IntelliBrite 5G white while using 44 percent less power.
- 12V low voltage: runs through a 12V safety isolation transformer.
- 100 ft cord for junction boxes set well back from the spa.
- Automation ready: works with Pentair IntelliCenter, IntelliTouch and EasyTouch automation and standard light switches.
- Direct 5G replacement: same niche fitment as the IntelliBrite 5G spa light 640152, so it drops into existing Pentair spa niches.
- UL and cUL listed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Pentair 618017 a 12V or 120V light?
12V. It requires a 12V safety isolation transformer. For the 120V Architectural white spa light, see the 602 series.
What other cord lengths are available?
The same 12V 18W white spa light comes as the 618015 (30 ft), 618016 (50 ft) and 618018 (150 ft).
Does it replace my IntelliBrite 5G spa light?
Yes. The 618017 is Pentair's direct replacement for the 5G white spa light 640152 and fits the same Pentair spa niche.
Is it a pool light or a spa light?
Spa light. It is the small format fixture for spa niches. For pools, use the Architectural Series pool lights, which are larger and rated higher.
Does it work with pool automation?
Yes. It runs on Pentair IntelliCenter, IntelliTouch and EasyTouch automation as well as a standard on/off switch.
Is professional installation required?
Yes. Pentair requires installation by a licensed electrician or qualified pool professional to validate the warranty, and pool lighting must meet electrical code for bonding, grounding and GFCI protection. Cut power at the breaker before servicing.
Frequently asked questions
Can I replace an incandescent pool light with an LED?
In most cases yes, and it is the common upgrade path, but the niche size, cord length and voltage must all match. LED fixtures draw far less power and last considerably longer than the incandescent lamps they replace.
What is the part number for this pool light?
Pentair lists this pool light under part number 618017. Quote 618017 when you cross-reference against your equipment manual, an existing part, or a parts diagram, so you are comparing the same revision.
How long a cord do I need?
The cord has to reach from the niche all the way to the junction box with slack for servicing - installers normally leave enough to lift the fixture onto the deck. Cord length is fixed at the factory, so measure before ordering rather than after.
How do I confirm this fits my equipment?
Match the part number stamped on the component you are replacing, or look it up in the parts list for your Pentair equipment. If your model or serial number is not named on this page, send it to us before you order and we will confirm the fit.
Does pool light work need an electrician?
Pool lighting sits under specific electrical code requirements covering bonding, grounding and GFCI protection. Cut power at the breaker before removing any fixture, and have a licensed professional handle the junction box and supply side.
Is there a warranty on this pool light?
It carries the standard Pentair manufacturer warranty. The terms are set by Pentair, and on some equipment the coverage only applies when a licensed professional performs the installation. Keep the receipt and packaging until you have confirmed correct operation.
